Once upon a time
In the 1960s, Maria Elvira and Luis Maria, two Argentine students, studied social work at the UCL
A few years later, back in Argentina, they founded the "Fundación Emmanuel".
In 1992, their friends decided to create a Belgian branch to provide moral and economic support to the association.
The Fundación Emmanuel is a non-profit association, independent of any religious denomination.
Every day, the Fundación Emmanuel (based in La Plata) supports and accompanies around one hundred families living in precarious conditions. The objective of the association is to assert the right of the child to live in a family structure.

I was, in fact, very quickly touched by the objectives of the Fundacion: to help families living in great precariousness by claiming, for the children, the right to a family structure.
